“This shoot was truly a labor of love for us. We saw the space, Tillie’s, while having a holiday brunch with a client and completely fell in love with it. I knew I needed to do something here and felt that only Nikk would be able to capture its essence. The owners brought the structure over from Vietnam and reassembled it piece by piece and then their interior designer filled in all the rest… so amazing to see two very different cultures come together to create such a unique and wonderful space. The old world meets the new world, modern!
The idea behind the shoot was about a couple who loved travel. They love exploring far off places and finding unique experiences to enjoy and share with family & friends. This space, located in the hill country outside of Austin, feels like an exotic oasis. The ancient structure with updated modern textiles and patterns is just dreamy and the layout is ideal for small intimate gatherings.
So we used the idea of old meets new, exotic meets modern as our design inspiration. We wanted to be very conscious of our choices–we wanted the images to engage the senses. This was a coming together of textures, colors, tastes, styles, cultures, etc. to create a warm and wonderful experience that represented our couples love of adventures and travel but still grounded in tradition.
A few remarks on the vendors: The dress, an exotic handmade lace gown by DaaLarna Couture was the perfect compliment for the stylings. The property has rooms and suites available so there is space for your guests to overnight or enjoy a whole weekend getaway. The restaurant has gotten great reviews for its food and ambiance.”
